Irmelin
we are spiritual beings having a human experience
All through the years drawing and painting have been a constant in my life. After the fire claimed  much of my work, everything changed. Although it was difficult on many levels I actually, in an unexpected way, enjoyed the process of dealing with the challenge of getting a life back. I mean - I’d rather not have been put into this situation and go through this, of course. It did hurt, a lot. The process was frustrating but I could not see myself doing anything less than putting my all into reclaiming a life.

We were enjoying our life before the fire but due to no fault of our own, our life was devastated and changed for ever.

After some time for adjusting there was a new challenge and a new life to be created. I enjoyed the process of writing a book, designing and ultimately building a house. Things I had barely let myself dream of doing.

Trying to keep a balance wasn’t easy. I have watched myself grow and find myself even more open to new experiences.

Although, not surprisingly, I still find that I was destined to paint.
